Our goal at Tomorrow’s Wellness Center, conveniently located in Northfield, NJ, just minutes from the Atlantic City Expressway and Garden State Parkway is to provide comprehensive evaluation and follow up of adult men and women who have medical conditions that qualify under the NJ Medical Marijuana Program.
The NJ Medical Marijuana Program requires that patients have an ongoing patient–physician relationship of least a year OR new patients are required to have at least four visits before they can be issued a certification letter. Read below to see how you can become a Medical Marijuana Patient.
1. Your Must Have a Qualifying Condition
Under the requirements of the NJ State MMP, you must experience a qualifying condition to be eligible. Dr. Hernberg is licensed to evaluate patients in order to help them seek holistic-integrative medical treatment. Please review the list of qualifying conditions and set up an appointment if you feel that you are eligible.
Some Qualifying Conditions Include:
- Anxiety
- Cancer
- Chronic Pain
- Dysmenorrhea
- Glaucoma
And more…
2. Your First Visit
On your first visit, Dr. Hernberg will perform an in-person examination and discuss your qualifying condition and health issues with you. Your appointment will be for 45 minutes; expected time in the office will be 60 minutes for completion of paperwork. We will also explain the need for the medical records from your primary care physician that documents your qualifying condition. We will gladly obtain the records for you after you sign a medical release form. If you meet all of the criteria required by NJ State MMP, Dr, Hernberg will issue you a certification letter. The cost for the program varies depending if you are a new or existing patient. Discounts may apply and ALL Veterans receive a $50 discount. Call the office for details 609-407-1119.
3. Follow Up Visits
Once we obtain your records from your primary care physician, we will schedule your follow up visits. This visit will last approximately 15-20 minutes. If allowed, we will perform the follow up visits via a secure telemedicine portal or your phone. During this visit, we will review your patient records from your primary care physician with you. We will discuss any questions you may have and also discuss the risks and benefits of medical cannabis. This thorough assessment will complete the determination of your qualification for the NJ Medical Marijuana Program. If you meet the criteria, Dr. Hernberg will confirm your qualification with the state and issue you a state Certification.
4. Medical Marijuana ID Card
Once your application is approved; the next step is to pay a $100 processing fee to the State of NJ for the medical marijuana ID card. Upon processing and approval of your submitted application, the state DOH will then send out your Medical Marijuana Patient ID card, which you will receive by mail. This may take 7-30 days. Once received, this will allow you to purchase medical cannabis from an approved NJ Department of Health medical marijuana dispensary.
5. Follow Up
We want to know how you’re doing! Once you have received your card, we will schedule a follow up at six months to see if you have any questions and are having any issues. This appointment will last approximately 15-20 minutes. If you have any issues you may request a more detailed appointment at any time, but a fee may be charged.
