According to the FDA, three people out over 15,184, (0.01976 %), who received the MODERNA vaccine had swelling in the dermal filler treatment area between one – two days following the last vaccine injection. The swelling resolved with oral steroids and anti-histamines. No serious or life-threatening events occurred. One individual had received a dermal filler six months prior to vaccination and developed facial swelling within 24 hours of the injection and another received the filler two weeks prior to the vaccination and developed swelling 48 hours post vaccination. The third individual was vaccinated first and two days later was given lip filler, and 48 hours later developed swelling of the lips. This individual had a similar occurrence following lip filler and the Flu vaccine. For a frame of reference in understanding the nature of vaccines and adverse events three people in the vaccinated study group developed BELL’S Palsy. THE CHANCE OF DEVELOPING A SERIOUS PROBLEM RELATED TO DERMAL FILLERS AND THE MODERNA VACCINE APPEARS TO BE VERY SMALL. INDIVIDUALS SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR PRIMARY PHYSICIAN REGARDING THE HEALTH RISKS TO COVID AND THEIR PERSONAL INDICATIONS FOR VACCINATION. IN THE REMOTE CHANCE YOU DEVELOP SWELLING, THE TREATMENT IS EASY AND SAFE. CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE RECEIVED A DERMAL FILLER, OR PLAN TO GET A FILLER, AND ANTICIPATE RECEIVING THE MODERNA VACCINE SHOULD TAKE AN OTC ANTI-HISTAMINE BEFORE AND FOR SEVERAL DAYS AFTER VACCINATION. IF SWELLING DEVELOPS A STEROID DOSE PACK IS REPORTED TO HELP RESOLVE THE SWELLING. TO DATE NO ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THE OTHER VACCINES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT DR.
