Am I candidate?
CoolSculpting® can be performed on both men and women. Each treatment depends on the individual and varies depends on the amount of pinchable fat in the area of concern.
How many CoolSculpting® Elite treatments will I need?
A typical candidate for CoolSculpting® will likely need 1-2 treatments to any given area. Dr. Hernberg offers free consultations to better assess the areas you would like treated.

CoolSculpting® uses cryolipolysis, which is just a technical way to say fat-freezing. When fat cells freeze, they die and are then naturally eliminated through the body’s natural process. Don’t worry: This process happens so gradually; you won’t necessarily notice a difference in your day-to-day life.
What do reviews say about CoolSculpting® Elite?
The internet is full of raving CoolSculpting® reviews from men and women who have transformed their bodies by freezing their fat with CoolSculpting®. You can freeze off fat…Sounds like science fiction but the body shaping results [from CoolSculpting] are very, very real.”

What are the side effects to CoolSculpting® Elite?
CoolSculpting® is a safe, FDA cleared treatment that eliminates fat non-invasively. CoolSculpting® side effects are rare, and clinical research commonly notes the high safety profile of this treatment. After your CoolSculpting® treatment, you may experience some mild and temporary symptoms as your body goes to work to process the frozen fat. These symptoms include tenderness, redness, numbing, and bruising in the treatment area. For most patients, these symptoms are minimal and do not hinder normal activities, including exercise. Rare side effects may also occur. Paradoxical hyperplasia (visibly enlarged tissue volume in the treated area) may develop two to five months after treatment and requires surgical intervention for correction. As with any medical procedure, ask Dr. Hernberg if CoolSculpting® is right for you.
Is CoolSculpting® Elite an alternative to Liposuction or a Tummy Tuck?
Liposuction is a very effective method of fat reduction because the fat is physically removed from the body. A tummy tuck is major surgery and generally provides excellent results for skin laxity issues and excess fat.
However, because both of these procedures are invasive procedures, they typically require the use of anesthesia, can result in scars, have risk of infection and requires recovery time. As an alternative to liposuction, CoolSculpting® does not have any of these drawbacks and has no long-term adverse effects in millions of cases worldwide. The results from invasive surgical procedures are generally more extensive compared to CoolSculpting®.
